Today I will keep my post short and simple. I just want to share with you something that is strange, wonderful and at the same time, inspiring.
I came across this website a few years ago. From there, I learned the meaning of "NOW".
We are so preoccupied with our past, and worry about our future, we never really appreciate the present moment. The Book of Now was a good experiential learning for me.
Click on this website now and experience it yourself. Do let me know what you think.
Enjoy!!
Nice one. Actually many people are confused with the term 'time management'. What is more important is what are you going to do now! Very good way of expression. Thks for sharing.
I wonder if you've watched Kung Fu Panda. Because there's this quote from it that reads, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present."
I like this quote very much.
The 'now' counts for tomorrow and days to come...:)
pete, thanks. What we do NOW will determine our future. So yes, NOW is where we should focus on.
day-dreamer, I like the quote too! Actually Kungfu Panda borrowed from US First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, who's the originator of this brilliant quote.
my bug life, now is the only time there is.
i like the NOW book! such a good self-motivated book!
this look interesting. will read up more abt it before i comment. i tried to comment jus now but it got lost :)
a passionate book on how you approach the present moment. thanks for sharing!
I think day-dreamers quote is right on the dot :D
Very good for me to see! I often live in the past and future but need to pay more attention to now!
I plan too much for the future and forgot to enjoy myself now. :)
The future is unpredictable, I expect lots more difficulties looming ahead. Now is real.
Thank you for the eye-opening reminder.
Truly inspired! yes, I must remind myself that we've to appreciate the present moment.. thanks for sharing!
I dun really get what I was reading.
i kinda feel like killing myself because i have to wait for the arrow to come out so that i can click the next page. XD
but seriously, it's all about "feeling" now for me. doesn't matter happy or sad or anger, since we can only feel the emotions this exact moment. therefore let it be positive or negative feelings, enjoy it nonetheless. ;)
wow..this is really powerful! thanks for sharing!
faisal admar, it is good isn't it?: )
bengbeng, ok will wait for your comments : )
life ramblings, you are welcome! : )
nick phillips, I think so too : )
health nut wannabee mom, yes, focus on the "now" : )
eastcoastlife, true enjoy the "now". What you do now will affect the future, so concentrate on "now" : )
jacqueline, you are welcome! : )
monica, this book is a good reminder for us to appreciate the "now" : )
jam, basically, it's about focusing on the "now" instead of thinking of the past or worrying about the future. Because you don't have the power to change the past, and the future has not arrived yet so you can't do much either, instead, the power lies in the "now". What you do now determines your future. Hope this helps.
levian, yes the book makes you realise that your mind is always wondering to the future or to the past, and very rarely in the present. We need to just focus on the present and feeling the "now" - I think you got it : )
carrot, yes powerful stuff and I'm glad I'm sharing this : )
