So busy I don't know if I can even find the time to complete this post.
Well, I guess if I make this post really really short, I am sure I will be able to make it!
So let's just play a guessing game today, shall we?
Since a lot of you like to eat, and like to read blogs about food, what I'm going to do today is post this picture of the food I ate for lunch yesterday. Here it is...
It's fish noodles with tung fan (glass noodles), fish cakes, carrot slices and yau mak (romaine lettuce) in clear soup.
Now all you do is just guess where I ate this! Easy?
Hints : The restaurant is somewhere in Petaling Jaya, and they don't use preservatives and boric acid in their food.
On the subject of boric acid, do you know it is still widely being used in the Malaysian food industry despite it being banned as a preservative long time ago?
According to this report, the concentration of boric acid in Malaysia was found to be highest in yellow noodles, followed by fish ball, wantan noodle, koay teow noodle, lai fun noodle and loh shee fun noodle.
So if you love noodles and fish balls, you may want to eat those without boric acid like at the place I went to. Now, let's see if you can name the restaurant and where it is located. Have fun guessing!
GOOD NEWS!! The first person to give the correct answer will get a RM10 voucher to dine in Sakae Sushi. Please note you must give the exact name of the restaurant and its location, but not necessarily the road name. You may guess more than once, but only your last answer will be considered, UNLESS no one answered correctly. Sorry only Malaysians eligible for this prize. GOOD LUCK!!
That is an interesting looking dish! I am sure I would try it but not sure I would like it!
Have a great day and as always thanks for commenting at my place!
I know this place...I love their noodles too ;) If I am not mistaken the name of the coffeeshop's teow chew fish ball or something..couple of rows from Starbucks in Dsara Uptown!
So, do I get a prize for making the guess?? :P
Hmm, how about 'Face to Face Noodles House'? LOL Very wild guess!
Where????... I have no idea :-p
IN MALAYSIA.. AM I RITE? lols..
phew, u eat lots of unusual stuff. i am very sure i have never seen anything like this before
yish... how we know where the place is jek?!
yu wat noodles? me has no idea
hmmm...I've no idea...:-D
looks colorful and yummy... :-)
Fish noodles are nice but not common. These are without boric acid? Wow! They must taste awesome. *Drool...*
How do you know they don't use boric acid? Have you tested it in the lab?
absolutely no idea.
that boric acid issue is there, i know. just waiting for the newspaper to make it a big story again ...... and then the govt will put up a show for all to see
toni, thanks for dropping by! Well, you'll never know whether you'll like it unless you try it. : )
my bug life, hehe. I shall reveal the answer later, as I want to give chance for more people to respond first : )
babette, will reveal the answer soon. Stay tuned! : )
tz, really no idea? Will reveal answer soon : )
victor kiu, of course it's in Malaysia. I already mentioned it's somewhere in Petaling Jaya : )
bengbeng, no such dish at your place? I guess only found in Selangor state : )
ah-bong, that's why I ask you to make a guess. If you like to blog about food, or read others blog about food, it's not that difficult to guess the answer : )
xin, really no idea? Will reveal answer soon : )
monica, haha. The answer will be revealed soon : )
tr3nta, thanks! It is yummy indeed : )
happysurfer, yes fish noodle is not commonly found. I like it because the soup is not oily, and the noodles are free from boric acid : )
khengsiong, of course I did not test it at the lab. It is free of boric acid because the restaurant claim so with big words "No Boric Acid" printed on the wall and they use it as the selling point for their food.
life ramblings, haha. Will reveal answer soon : )
johnny ong, CAP has highlighted this boric acid issue many times but nothing has been done by the Government so far.
aiyoh, don't know the answer bu want the RM10 voucher! LOL
I think I may hit the bull's eye with this last guess..the exact name is Restaurant House of Fishball(s)in D'sara Uptown, same row with Starbucks ;)
oh i didnt know they have boric acid for our noodles as well.. thought only instant noodles. that means both are equally bad?
Dunno where as not really familiar with PJ dining places.
I have absolutely no idea. I guess today is not my lucky day
Ok, I'll wait for the answer..LOL!
Interesting dish :)
lina, haha! You've to guess correctly to win : )
my bug life, congratulations!! You won the RM10 voucher! Actually, the full name is Tang's House Of Fishball, but your answer is close enough. Yes, it's in Uptown same row with Starbucks. Pls email me your address so that I can mail you the voucher : )
quachee, yes both equally bad. Especially try to avoid the yellow noodles which have the highest concentration of boric acid.
neo, acura and monica, the answer is out. It's Tang's House Of Fishball at Damansara Uptown, same row with Starbucks : )
leo, yes indeed. Thanks for dropping by! : )
That looks yummy, and I love clear soup! I hope there isn't MSG in it?
Aiyor! RM10 at Japanese restaurant, what to eat? One sushi? LOL!!!
P.S. Don't like fish noodles. Just like fish cakes and they cut into thin strips like noodles. Same as fish balls, also got boric acid, I'm sure, or else they will not get the correct texture.
missmall, as far as I know, they don't use MSG because the soup cooked with fishballs inside would already make it very tasty. If you are health conscious and don't like oily stuff, this is the perfect dish for you! : )
suituapui, with RM10 at Sakae Sushi, you can probably eat a few sushis. I am not that rich to offer a whole meal free, ok? : )
