It must be noted that disease never suddenly sneaks up on us and strikes us down. It takes a long time and lots of neglect for disease to occur. As such, each stage may take many years before progressing to the next stage. However, the good news is, at whichever stage you are in, you can halt the disease's progress by taking the correct action.
The correct action simply means the removal of the cause of the disease. When the root cause is removed, pain stops, the disease process stops and health returns. However, if drugs are used to relieve the discomfort, which is the usual course of action, the cause remains unchecked and the disease process continues to the next stage.
Therefore, be aware if the drugs you take are really removing the cause of your disease, or are they simply masking the pain and discomfort giving a false impression that your health situation is improving?
Let's start with Stage 1.
Stage 1 : Enervation
The word 'enervation' comes from the word 'energy'. We all know energy is the essence of life. We need energy to carry out all the functions of the body. Enervation is a condition whereby our body is either not generating enough energy for the tasks it must perform or the tasks our body must perform is greater than what the normal energy supply can cope with.
When does enervation occurs? When your body is loaded with toxic materials and it has limited energy to eliminate them. This creates a cycle because when toxins become overloaded in your body, you produce even less energy to eliminate them from your body.
Since energy is restored when you sleep, the first warning sign that you are becoming enervated is when you become tired and sluggish and require longer sleeping hours and frequent naps in the day.
Do you know that digestion requires more energy than running? This is a fact and so people who are at the enervation stage will have problem with digestion as they do not have enough energy for this essential bodily function!
Furthermore, as their condition worsens, they will suffer from a loss of appetite. The body is instinctively smart and when your digestion power is reduced, it will automatically decrease your desire for food. That's why always be aware when you lose your appetite. It is in fact, a first sign of your disease progressing to the next stage.
However, just because you have a huge appetite does not mean you are healthy. Our body is very adaptable and it may have adapted to your situation and you may have already skipped Stage 1 and moved on to Stage 2!

khengsiong, you sleep a lot? really? How many hours total in a day? Maybe you have lots of stress at work? Either that or you are at Stage 1.
As to whether you are at higher stages, you have to wait for my upcoming posts and see whether you have those symptoms associated with each stage : )
fufu, you are welcome. Yes don't eat heavy meal before bedtime, light meal is OK. As long as your supper is not a lot of meat which is hard to digest, but fruits and vegetables, then should be fine.
Also important is don't exercise right after eating, cos you need the energy to digest your food. If you exercise, the energy supply will be divided between digestion and exercise, causing you to suffer from indigestion and stomach problems : )

First time having heard of enervation. Well our body is given by God so it's important to treat it well by giving it enough rest. I think maybe you also know about this - the heart seems to be working 24/7 to pump blood, but in reality it only works for 9 full hours while resting 15 hours in aggregate. Isn't that interesting? :)
Good Health is very important. At my age, I'm seeing many older relatives and friends struck by illness.
Start taking care of our health when we are young, don't wait until too late.

An interesting topic. I can relate this post to my daily life. Not long ago I just heard from my hubby that everything surrounding me is energy. Even what I think is energy. I thought what the hell was he talking about? Hahaha. Digesting needs more energy than running! No wonder I need sugary drinks before & after I jog. Otherwise I fall hungry super quick or shaking.
sleep is essential for our body, this is one thing i can relate with this post. The big C is really scary.
I'm getting up at 5.00am again now that school holiday starts to run for a few KMs. Hitting the gym soon too.

eastcoastlife, yes very good advice. Unfortunately, most youngsters today do not realise the importance of good health. They are chasing after material wealth and eating whatever food they enjoy, staying up late and practically doing all those unhealthy things!
It's unfortunate cos when we are young, our body can still take it and we won't feel a thing, but 10 or 20 years down the road, we'll suffer the consequences of abusing our body.
As mentioned in my post, disease does not just suddenly attack. It takes many, many years before it surface and by that time, it would require lots of money and effort to cure it.
SK, haha! At first glance, what you said sounds logical, but it doesn't work that way.
When you eat more, your body would need more energy to burn the added calories, and since more energy is needed for digestion as well, you would have lack of energy to burn those calories, resulting in accumulation of fat and you become overweight as a result.
Besides, when you eat too much, you would suffer from lack of energy, and when this happens, your digestion suffers. The food would stay longer in your stomach and this will result in the undigested food turning into toxic substances that will require even more energy to get rid of. You see, it becomes a hopeless cycle and as a result, you will gain weight and you will progress from vibrant health to all the different stages from 1-7.

che-cheh, sleep earlier! I know it's hard, I also like to sleep late, but for the sake of good health, I now make it a point to sleep early at least 4 times a week.
You do know that we need to be asleep between 11pm - 1am for our liver to do its job, right? The time between 11pm and 1am is the time blood is most concentrated in the liver. If we fail to rest during these hours, the liver will not be able to do the detoxification of our blood properly, and the long term implications would be we'll have a very toxic body which of course would lead to diseases and cancer.
So to ensure our liver rest well and regain its power, we must sleep by 11pm. I know I'm guilty of not doing this regularly, but I'm trying. Looks like less blogging from now on at night! : )
iwalk, yes we must be good to ourselves, therefore we must take care of our health. I know it's hard to sleep early especially for me too, but I'm trying to change to a healthier lifestyle. If not now, when?

ladyviral, most of the drugs suppress the symptoms but not cure the disease. It's better to allow our body to fight the disease than depend on drugs unless you really cannot take it.
