After our visit to the Elephant Trunk Hill, we rested a while in the hostel before going out for dinner. Since this was our first day in Guilin, we decided to take a walk around before dinner.
And so we came upon this Central Square.
It was huge!
And not over crowded with people like certain places in the city!
There were entertainment for kids!
And cars of various designs for kids to drive too!
If not mistaken, the pyramid glass structure served as an entrance to the underground plaza. We did not go there.
Huge advertisement billboards and screens could be seen at one side of the square.
To get to Central Square, you can take bus No. 1 or No.22 to the Central Square bus stop and just walk for a few minutes to reach it.
After having enough of photo taking, we left Central Square in search of a good place to have our first dinner in Guilin.
I ended up eating horse meat which I will blog about next, so stay tuned!

Don't think I can stomach horse meat..although I wish to take a sneak bite just to see what it tastes like. I cannot eat ostrich meat coz the thought of the bird makes me nauseous. Same goes for eel.

Yes I did one time....or rather I tried to swallow the unagi. Just a small piece and it gave me the chills...as images of the slithery creatures crossed my mind. No second piece for me after that.
mei teng, haha! My goodness, luckily I don't imagine such things when I am eating unagi. It's my favourite food in Jap restaurants btw : )
Ewwwww...horse meat. I heard tat the meat is very hard to chew one.

Guilin may be small by China standard, but relatively big by Malaysian standard.

The Central Square in Guilin is a wonderful place for all. It is packed with all the amenities of entertainment especially for the kids. The place was nicely utilized from the commercial point of view with display boards, underground shopping plaza etc. Thanks for the post. Bye.

The place looks very modern. I love the mini cars for the kids. Did you see any adults driving them? Just checking because I know I'd have an itch to give it a try. I'm surprised to see that there's not a lot of people. I thought it's crowded anywhere in China.

I like walking here. Big streets. Many people. Easy to find places to eat. Nice experience. Very pleasant to walk in Feb. It was our very first trip to China.
Our hostel faces to the south gate of Sheraton Guilin Hotel, near Li river and commercial walking street.
So nice to view all those pictures, the central park is really very huge and the good thing is that it is not overcrowded with people,fun for kids that is also entertaining,good pics!
